Baby #2 - 40 weeks

And just like that- another due date come and gone. As I sit here and process all the emotions running through my head, the one that sticks out most is thankfulness. I am so thankful to have had this opportunity again. That God trusts ME enough to make a baby, and then I get the privledge of being his mommy! It really doesn't get any better than that!

I'm also so so thankful to my amazing husband. My partner. My best friend. I honestly do not know how I would've made it through the last 9 months without you! You are my rock and my hero and I love you so much.

And lastly, I'm thankful to the little boy who made me a mommy first. Thank you for loving me on my bad days (God knows we've had a handful) and forgiving me when I snapped at you. Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. And thank you for always bringing joy to my life. I love you, nugget! And I cannot wait for you to meet your baby brother!

Although I have to admit, I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm a bit disheartened. You go 8 months of your life willing this day to come, and when it does and you don't have a baby in your arms, its a little underwhelming. But like I said, I am so thankful to have gotten here.

How far along: 40 weeks

Baby's size: Watermelon

Weight gain: 33lbs.

Maternity clothes: Yes

Stretch marks: None

Sleep: Sleep has been terrible this week. My brain just won't just off and I can't get comfortable.

Gender: BOY!

Movement: LOTS! Especially at night this week.

Best moment this week: Getting things done around the house, and meeting with my OB this morning to discuss the game plan for tomorrow.

Worst moment this week: Josh had to work a full 5 days last week, so that was rough. But we survived! :)

Looking forward to: Judson's arrival!!!

Food cravings: Milk and queso :-P

Weirdest food I ate this week: Nothing, really...

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope

Labor signs: Nothing, really. Still only 1cm.

Symptoms: tired, hemorrhoids, baby brain, itchy stomach, linea negra and melasma on my face

Workouts: None at all

What I miss: I would just repeat what I said last week, because it's all still very true.

Similarities/differences between last pregnancy: Overall this pregnancy has been very very similar to the last one. Not much to complain about, really. Check out my last pregnancy at 40 weeks here.

Things that suck: Nothing!

Things that don't suck: Meeting baby TOMORROW!

Baby #2 - 39 weeks

How far along: 39 weeks

Baby's size: A bunch of Swiss chard (hahaha...this might be the strangest one yet!)

Weight gain: 32lbs. (oh, woof- after Thanksgiving, our dinner out and various other splurge meals, it's caught up!)

Maternity clothes: Yes! And even maternity clothes don't fit any more!

Stretch marks: None

Sleep: I am sleepy 24/7. With Josh home for 5 days over Thanksgiving, I slept 12 hours at night, took naps and I was STILL sleepy!

Gender: BOY!

Movement: LOTS! Josh got to see him "making waves" (as he called it) and I was like, "this is how he always is...."

Best moment this week: Thanksgiving was so much fun! It was relaxed and easy and I loved it! Josh and I also went on one last date night before Mr. Judd makes his appearance. We had a lovely time and ate way too much! :)

Worst moment this week: Umm probably yesterday when Josh had to go back to work after a 5-day weekend. Tear! :(

Looking forward to: Judson's arrival!!!

Food cravings: I am still drinking TONS of milk!

Weirdest food I ate this week: Nothing, really...

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope

Labor signs: I've been having some painful cramping below the belly, but not really "downtown." Not really sure what those are, but I would only rate them a 1 on the pain scale because they literally last a second. Also, still only 1cm dilated.

Symptoms: tired, hemorrhoids, baby brain, itchy stomach, linea negra and melasma on my face

Workouts: We actually went on a walk on Sunday. A slow walk, but a walk nonetheless!

What I miss: I miss being able to bend over and put on my own underwear. I miss being able to get out of my bed normally. I miss being able to eat a meal without having it come back up. I miss being able to move the laundry from washer to dryer. I miss working out. Heck, I miss being able to walk from the car to the store without cramping and/or losing my breath! I miss staying up later than 9pm to watch a show with Josh. I miss my nightly glass of wine (you knew it was coming). But mostly I just miss feeling like myself.

Similarities/differences between last pregnancy: Overall this pregnancy has been very very similar to the last one. Not much to complain about, really. Check out my last pregnancy at 39 weeks here.

Things that suck: With being at home all day errday, I am constantly finding things I want to do before Judson comes. It's exhausting!

Things that don't suck: 1 more week until D-Day! Can't wait!

Baby #2 - 38 weeks

How far along: 38 weeks

Baby's size: Winter melon

Weight gain: 27lbs.

Maternity clothes: Uhh yeah...I'm actually having trouble squeezing into some of my maternity clothes at this point. LOL!

Stretch marks: None

Sleep: Can't get enough of it!

Gender: BOY!

Movement: Lots and LOTS! My goodness- it's getting painful at times!

Best moment this week: Hmm...I don't know...it was a good week, but I can't think of anything in particular.

Worst moment this week: Last Wednesday was awful, actually I've had a few rough days. Just feeling SO UNCOMFORTABLE and can barely keep up with Jacob. I attempted to take Jacob Christmas shopping last Wednesday and about 20 minutes into it, I started feeling super painful cramping and my back started hurting. I started sweating. It was awwwwful! We cut the trip short and headed home and laid on the couch the entire rest of the day. Mom of the Year, for sure!

Looking forward to: Thanksgiving!! So so excited to be with family! I'm hosting again this year, and I'm kinda hoping it throws me into labor. Ha!

Food cravings: MILK!

Weirdest food I ate this week: Nothing, really...

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope

Labor signs: Semi-painful cramping, pressure "downtown" and I'm still almost 1cm dilated. F!

Symptoms: Braxton Hicks pretty much 24/7, cramping, tired, hemorrhoids, baby brain, itchy stomach, linea negra and melasma on my face

Workouts: Does chasing a 2.5 year old count??

What I miss: WINE! Oh dear baby Jesus, WINE!!

Similarities/differences between last pregnancy: I don't remember feeling this terrible at this point. Check out my last pregnancy at 38 weeks here.

Things that suck: Just feeling totally awful, uncomfortable and OVER IT!

Things that don't suck: 15 DAYS UNTIL OUR SCHEDULED INDUCTION! WOOHOO!

I've been having some serious anxiety lately and this saying just totally spoke to me.

Baby #2 - 37 weeks

How far along: 37 weeks...cannot believe we're already full term! How wild!?

Baby's size: Large cantaloupe

Weight gain: 25lbs.

Maternity clothes: Oh, yes!

Stretch marks: None

Sleep: Can't get enough of it!

Gender: BOY!

Movement: Lots of swooshing and sloshing...LOL!

Best moment this week: This week was really great. We had a lot of lazy down time, which is exactly what I/we needed. And I have to say, seeing this incredibly sweet leaf at school this morning just MADE MY WEEK. It's what Jacob is thankful for this year. (heart.melting.)

Worst moment this week: Jacob has still been waking up at night, crying or just whining, and it's getting a little old! It's really not like him, so I'm wondering if maybe he's teething again??

Looking forward to: Josh has Friday off, so looking forward to a fun family day!!

Food cravings: Nothing in particular

Weirdest food I ate this week: Nothing, really...

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope

Labor signs: Almost 1cm dilated, per doctor's appointment today.

Symptoms: Braxton Hicks, light cramping, sore back, tired, hemorrhoids, baby brain, itchy stomach, linea negra and melasma on my face

Workouts: None, been too cold and I'm way too uncomfortable!

What I miss: WINE!

Similarities/differences between last pregnancy: Very similar. Check out my last pregnancy at 37 weeks here.

Things that suck: It's much too cold for me.

Things that don't suck: I'm full term! Woohoo! So we have less than 1 month!

Baby #2 - 36 weeks

How far along: 36 weeks

Baby's size: Canary melon (whatever that is)

Weight gain: 25lbs.

Maternity clothes: Yes. I've basically been living in these jersey lounge pants that I listed last week. They are sooo comfy!!

Stretch marks: None

Sleep: Never enough and even when I finally get in bed at night, I toss and turn so much. I'm in a state of exhaustion all day errday...just getting ready for baby!

Gender: BOY!

Movement: Lots of jabbing and kicking.

Best moment this week: This week has been kinda sucky...The only really great moment was when I got my new car! Yay! The family truckster is awesome! Oh, and Josh had yesterday and today off work, so we got to have another little "date day", and we took maternity pictures yesterday!

Worst moment this week: It's been another hellacious week, but I'm happy to report that we've all turned a corner and its looking UP! I went to the doctor on Thursday to get checked out. My OB was hesitant to put me on any antibiotics, but once I told her I had jaw and sinus pain, she gave me a 5-day dose of augmentin. That does seem to be helping. While I was there, we did a non-stress test to make sure Mr. Judson was okay. He had been kinda still that day and I was a tad bit worried. But everything checked out ok! :)

Looking forward to: Seeing our maternity pictures. We took them yesterday and I cannot wait to get the proofs!!!

Food cravings: Hmm...cereal, maybe? I kinda love it all right now!

Weirdest food I ate this week: Nothing, really...

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing

Labor signs: None

Symptoms: Braxton Hicks, light cramping, sore back, tired, hemorrhoids, baby brain, itchy stomach, linea negra and melasma on my face

Workouts: None, been too sick!

What I miss: WINE and a general feeling of comfort...

Similarities/differences between last pregnancy: Very similar. Check out my last pregnancy at 36 weeks here.

Things that suck: It's a little too cold outside for November. But I really shouldn't complain about that! (although they're saying we might have snow flurries of the weekend- whaaaaaaat???)

Things that don't suck: Jacob is on the upswing, I feel better, and Josh is finally NOT on-call! Woohoo! :)

mama's new whip ;)

Baby #2 - 35 weeks

How far along: 35 weeks

Baby's size: Pineapple

Weight gain: Didn't weigh myself this morning, but I'm guessing 26lbs.

Maternity clothes: Ohhh yes...I bought these jersey lounge pants a few weeks ago and they have proven to be the BEST investment ever! I plan to buy another pair in black.

Stretch marks: None

Sleep: Ohhh...sleep...this week has been a total fluke, with Jacob being sick, so sleep hasn't really been great. However, it was so nice having Josh here over the weekend to help out and let me nap.

Gender: BOY!

Movement: LOTS! I'm starting to distinguish feet and hands and can seriously feel them poke out of my side!

Best moment this week: Josh and I had a lovely Thursday (while Jacob was at school). We had the carpets shampooed, went to brunch at one of our favorite restaurants, got some stuff done around the house and relaxed a bit together. We both commented on how weird and quiet it was without Jacob around. As much as we enjoyed our time together, we wouldn't change our wild life with little man for the world!

Worst moment this week: Prettttttttty much Friday thru today. So like all week? Ha! I just hate it when Jacob is sick!

Looking forward to: We're taking our maternity pictures on Monday. Can't wait for that! :)

Food cravings: My stomachs been a little squirrely lately too, so I haven't been in the mood for much.

Weirdest food I ate this week: Nothing, really...

Anything making you queasy or sick: All the BARF...

Labor signs: None

Symptoms: Braxton Hicks, light cramping, sore back, tired, hemorrhoids, baby brain, itchy stomach, linea negra, melasma on my face, and I had a few painful cramps over the weekend.

Workouts: Nada!

What I miss: WINE and a general feeling of comfort...

Similarities/differences between last pregnancy: Very similar. Check out my last pregnancy at 35 weeks here.

Things that suck: Jacob being sick!

Things that don't suck: This awesome weather! Yay for Fall (minus the sickies)!

Baby #2 - 34 weeks

How far along: 34 weeks

Baby's size: Honeydew melon (5lbs. 2oz., 18.2" according to our ultrasound today!)

Weight gain: 25lbs.

Maternity clothes: Ohhh yes...although I prefer not to wear clothes at all! ;-P

Stretch marks: None

Sleep: Now that I've got a good "wind down" routine, I'm sleeping pretty good! Lots of tossing and turning though, and I get up to pee at least once.

Gender: BOY!

Movement: LOTS! Rolling, kicking, and hiccups!

Best moment this week: Our diaper shower over the weekend. What a wonderful day!

Worst moment this week: On Friday morning my friend and I took our kids to a local park, and it was quite overwhelming. The kids are at such a crazy and wild age and rarely follow instructions or rules, which is really hard when you're 8 months pregnant (me) or you're wearing your 6 week old (my friend). BBUUTT the good news (and quite frankly the whole point of our trip) is both kids took 2 hour naps! Woohoo! :)

Looking forward to: Josh is taking Thursday and Friday off work, so I'm looking forward to a little date day on Thursday (while Jacob is at school) and a fun family day on Friday/HALLOWEEN!

Food cravings: Still breakfast foods, specifically pancakes! Ha!

Weirdest food I ate this week: Pancakes THREE TIMES this week! :)

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope

Labor signs: None

Symptoms: Braxton Hicks, light cramping, sore back, tired, hemorrhoids, baby brain, itchy stomach, my linea negra is starting to form and I'm starting to get melasma on my face

Workouts: A couple walks to the park this week.

What I miss: WINE and a general feeling of comfort...

Similarities/differences between last pregnancy: Very similar, although I'm starting to feel like a pile of crap! Don't think that happened until further along with Jacob. Check out my last pregnancy at 34 weeks here.

Things that suck: Nothing, really....I can't complain about anything!

Things that don't suck: We had an ultrasound today. It's always so neat to watch your baby on the inside. He was sticking out his tongue ALOT and already making some suckling movements. So crazy! :) Here's a few pictures...

baby face

baby foot - measuring 3" already, which happens to be the same as Jacob's foot at this gestational age

And of course, sweet baby profile

Baby #2 - 33 weeks

hair & makeup today...you so lucky! ;)
How far along: 33 weeks

Baby's size: Head of lettuce

Weight gain: 25lbs (after a massive breakfast at Original Pancake House...yum!!)

Maternity clothes: Yes, mostly all, except a few sweatshirts.

Stretch marks: None

Sleep: Sleep has been seriously sucking, and I've been getting the worst headaches because of it. I had a major meltdown on Friday afternoon, after Jacob woke up super early and barely took a nap. So I decided to switch up my bedtime routine- I've been taking baths before bed, putting my phone away until the morning, and reading. And it really seems to help!

Gender: BOY!

Movement: LOTS! And sometimes its kinda painful!

Best moment this week: Spending quality family time this weekend and checking things off our to-do list!

Worst moment this week: Probably Friday afternoon, like I mentioned earlier.

Looking forward to: Our diaper shower this weekend!! Woohoo!

Food cravings: Nothing, really...

Weirdest food I ate this week: Nothing, really...I totally expected to list a ton of fried fair food this week, but we didn't really eat anything crazy this year!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope

Labor signs: None

Symptoms: Tired, heartburn, tight tummy, shortness of breath, hemorrhoids, Braxton Hicks

Workouts: A couple walks this week

What I miss: Wait for it...WINE!

Similarities/differences between last pregnancy: Very similar! Check out my last pregnancy at 33 weeks here.

Things that suck: Nothing. Feeling really happy this week!

Things that don't suck: The cooler weather! Woohoo!!!! I ordered holiday shirts for Jacob over the weekend, and mayyyyyybe a Christmas shirt (or two) for Judson. Getting excited!!

Baby #2 - 32 weeks

Look at me! I actually got dressed, but still couldn't pull it together enough to do my hair. :)

How far along: 32 weeks

Baby's size: Coconut

Weight gain: 24 lbs.

Maternity clothes: Yes!

Stretch marks: None

Sleep: Ugh, this week has been crappy! Between Jacob teething and coughing at night (and waking me up), thunderstorms in the middle of the night, and me waking up to pee...blah blah blah...it's been an awful week of sleep for me!

Gender: BOY!

Movement: Lots!

Best moment this week: Loooong story...but Judson's dresser has been backordered for MONTHS now, and I was getting really anxious about it, mostly because I felt like I couldn't move forward with the nursery and/or wash/organize all the baby clothes until I got the dresser and I was kinda at a standstill. AANNDD with November right around the corner, I've gotta finish the nursery, so I can start focusing on the holidays and Christmas shopping (can't even believe I'm saying that)! So on Tuesday when I got the 165101561 email from the manufacturer saying it was backordered again, I was really upset! I almost cancelled, but the lady said they would possibly have it back in stock by that Friday, so I decided to wait until Friday and then make a decision. Guess what was delivered not an hour after that? The dresser! I couldn't believe it! And I'm finding it very strange that the manufacturer didn't know it was shipped? SO weird, but whatever! Mamas happy! I was able to wash and organize all of the baby clothes, which I now realize we don't have enough of. But that's a whole other can of worms. :)

Worst moment this week: I had a teeny tiny meltdown on Sunday morning. But nothing a little cry and mommy timeout couldn't solve! :)

Looking forward to: State Fair, first pumpkin patch visit and our maternity pictures! ALL in the upcoming week! Yay!

Food cravings: Nothing, really...

Weirdest food I ate this week: Nothing, really...

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope

Labor signs: None

Symptoms: Tired, heartburn, tight tummy, shortness of breath, hemorrhoids, Braxton Hicks

Workouts: A couple walks this week

What I miss: WINE!

Similarities/differences between last pregnancy: Very similar! Check out my last pregnancy at 32 weeks here.

Things that suck: I'm starting to feel tired again, which really limits my productivity. Gotta take advantage of the time when daddy is home!

Things that don't suck: The weather is starting to change, and I'm so beyond happy!

Things that don't suck: TX/OU is this weekend! Woohoo!

Baby #2 - 30 weeks

How far along: 30 weeks

Baby's size: Cabbage

Weight gain:  19 lbs.

Maternity clothes: Yes, mostly all

Sleep: Pretty good!! Judd hates when I lay on my right side, so as soon as I flop over there, he starts kicking so hard! Haha! So funny!

Gender: BOY!

Movement: Lots and lots! Yesterday I thought he was going to escape! Ha!

Best moment this week: This weekend was so nice. We got a few things done around the house, relaxed and ate good food. Definitely needed that!

Worst moment this week: I have "off" days periodically, usually about 1-2/week, where I'm just cranky and tired. Thank goodness for my amazing husband that does bathtime without me, so I can crawl in bed at 8:30!!

Baby #2 - 29 weeks

How far along: 29 weeks

Baby's size: Cauliflower

Weight gain: 18 lbs.

Maternity clothes: Well, after seeing myself in workout clothes over the weekend, I've officially retired them. Let's just say- woof! I'm starting to collect larger tees and comfy pants/leggings.

Stretch marks: None

Sleep: Pretty good!!

Gender: BOY!

Movement: Lots and lots!

Best moment this week: We had a good week. Lots of time outside, since the weather was a bit cooler. Josh and I also had a little "date day" on Saturday to go car shopping and eat lunch together. It was really fun!! I miss spending alone time with him!

Worst moment this week: I honestly can't think of a bad moment. Although I'm starting to get Braxton Hicks when I do most anything physical, so just walking to the park is kinda uncomfortable for me.

Looking forward to: I purchased a few little things for Judson's room over the weekend, so I'm excited to finish that up!!

Food cravings: Still breakfast foods- pancakes, cereal, bagels, yogurt.

Weirdest food I ate this week: Nothing, really...

Name Game

Baby names are super important to me. Like in a weird, indescribable way. I get very sensitive and protective over my name choice; probably because people are so damn judgmental and most people don't realize they're being offensive when they say "oh, that's interesting...."

I try to keep it on the down low  for as long as possible, mostly for my heart. But alas- the time has come. Baby showers are coming up and people want to know!

We landed on a name shortly after we found out we were having another boy. Honestly, it was the only boy name I liked and Josh agreed!

Besides family and close friends, we haven't shared it yet because the middle name has sentimental value (like Jacob) and we wanted to let his namesake know before everyone else. Seems fair, right?!

So, without further adieu...our second baby will be...

All the men in Josh's family have "J" names; hence Josh and Jacob and Judson. Lots of J's! I'm going to be confusing them 24/7 (like I'm not doing that already). I love the name Hudson, and thought using a J at the beginning would be a little different but not too wild. I'm not about wild, weird names.

Cody is the last name of Josh's high school basketball coach, who taught Josh much more than just basketball. If you ask him, he'll tell you that Coach Cody has been a role model for him his entire life and continues to be. We had a lovely time with Coach a few weekends ago, when we told him our name plans. He was surprised and thankful, just the humble reaction we all expected.

Of course, we are super excited for little Judson "Judd" to make his arrival. I can hardly believe I have 11 weeks left! It feels like just yesterday that we found out I was pregnant. And here we are, jumping into the last trimester. Which, might I add- might be my final trimester EVER. EEK!

Hope you're having a lovely Monday! Cheers!

Stretch marks: None

Sleep: Been pretty good, but I can't get enough!

Gender: BOY!

Movement: Lots! He's officially head down now, so he must've really switched around at some point.

Best moment this week: Our ultrasound today was fun! My amniotic fluid looked good today, so no more f/u ultrasounds.

Worst moment this week: I felt really awful on Sunday evening. Just tired and overwhelmed. Jacob had a tiny cold over the weekend, so I was kinda worked up over that.

Looking forward to: Going car shopping this weekend! Hooray!

Food cravings: Breakfast foods- pancakes, cereals, eggs, bacon, etc.

Weirdest food I ate this week: Nothing, really...

Anything making you queasy or sick: I had 2 hotdogs over the weekend and they made my stomach really upset!

Gender: BOY!

Movement: Lots!

Best moment this week: This weekend was really good, we checked a lot off our to-do lists and had good quality family time.

Worst moment this week: Nothing, really...

Looking forward to: We've decided on a name, which does have a meaningful middle name (like Jacob), so we'll be traveling to Cleburne this weekend to kinda "announce" the name to his namesake. I'm really excited, as I think it will be a complete surprise!

Food cravings: Pancakes, parfaits, Raisin Bran ;)

Weirdest food I ate this week: Raisin Bran

Baby #2 - 26 weeks

I'm totally over these pictures, can you tell? ;)
How far along: 26 weeks

Baby's size: Turnip

Weight gain: 14lbs. (not sure if this is right)

Maternity clothes: A few items...still squeezing into my regular workout clothes, but not sure how much longer I'll be able to do that! Ha!

Stretch marks: None

Sleep: Sleep was surprisingly good this week, even with traveling and being in a hotel.

Gender: BOY!

Movement: Lots! I think I felt my first hiccups!

Best moment this week: Traveling to New York and seeing all my family. It was so much fun to see everyone, although it would've been 100x better if I could drink!

Worst moment this week: I got a little heartburn while in New York, but nothing nearly as bad as I did at the beginning.

Looking forward to: Jacob started MDO this week, but is only going til 12 this week. Next week he'll go until 2 and I'm kinda excited about that, and the free time.

Food cravings: Chocolate!

Weirdest food I ate this week: Oh gosh, so much weird stuff in NY- pig (like a straight-up roasted pig), venison, massive amounts of hot dogs, BBQ sauces, etc.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Seeing the freshly roasted pig.

Labor signs: None

Symptoms: Tired, queasiness, heartburn, tight tummy, shortness of breath

Workouts: Nothing this week, it's been too hot!

What I miss: WINE

Similarities/differences between last pregnancy: Absolutely the same! Last pregnancy at 26 weeks here for reference.

Things that suck: Really, just this awful Texas heat. It sucks not being able to go outside much.

Things that don't suck: It's SEPTEMBER!!! YAY!

Baby #2 - 25 weeks

How far along: 25 weeks

Baby's size: Ear of corn

Weight gain: 10lbs.

Maternity clothes: A few items...still squeezing into my regular workout clothes

Stretch marks: None

Sleep: Can't ever get enough!

Gender: BOY!

Movement: Lots!

Best moment this week: We got the nursery painted and I LOVE IT! I also just put the last coat on the curtain rod / shelf unit for the window, so I'm super excited to get that all together!

Worst moment this week: I had (yet another) meltdown on Thursday, and Josh actually had to come home from work. With Jacob being sick and needy, and my inability to recover from small bumps in the road, I just couldn't handle it. I get so embarrassed when he has to come home, I mean- is it really that hard?! Gah.

Looking forward to: I'm traveling to New York with my mom and sister this weekend, and I'm soo looking forward to a little girls getaway.

Food cravings: Nothing, really...

Weirdest food I ate this week: Nothing, really...

Anything making you queasy or sick: I had to clean, boil and cut up chicken this week. OMG woof!

Labor signs: None

Symptoms: Tired, queasiness, heartburn, tight tummy (don't think it's braxton hicks), shortness of breath

Workouts: Nothing this week, it's been too hot!

What I miss: WINE

Similarities/differences between last pregnancy: Basically the same, minus the pregnancy glow. Last pregnancy at 25 weeks here for reference.

Things that suck: This Texas heat!!!!!!! ACK!

Things that don't suck: It's the last week of August- YAY!

Baby #2 - 24 weeks

How far along: 24 weeks

Baby's size: Ear of corn (aren't spaghetti squash larger than ears of corn?! just saying)

Weight gain: 9lbs. (finding this hard to believe considering all the crap I've been eating)

Maternity clothes: A few items...still squeezing into my regular workout clothes on the reg.

Stretch marks: None

Sleep: Loving it, can't seem to get enough though.

Gender: BOY!

Movement: Lots!

Best moment this week: This week has been kinda shitty, with all of us sick and the heat/humidity sucking any energy out of us. We did get to hear the baby's heartbeat today, which is always nice. It was ~155 and I was measuring right on target.

Worst moment this week: I had a total meltdown yesterday morning. I was crying on the phone with Josh at 9:30am. Not a great way to start the week. Today is looking better though! :)

Looking forward to: Painting the nursery this weekend. Yay!

Food cravings: I've been craving mashed potatoes, so naturally we had to go to Black Eyed Pea to get me some. LOL!

Weirdest food I ate this week: Probably the above- chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans. Oh, wow...so good! :)

Anything making you queasy or sick: If I eat too much or stuff that's real heavy, I get nauseous.

Labor signs: None

Symptoms: Tired, queasiness and heartburn. I've been chewing sugar-free bubble gum after every meal, which is supposed to increase saliva production and help curb heartburn/reflux. So far it's been working!

Workouts: Nothing this week, it's been too hot and I've been sick.

What I miss: WINE

Similarities/differences between last pregnancy: Still feeling very similar, physically. I'm not experiencing the "pregnancy high" I felt last time; I was always so excited about everything baby-related last time. This time, I'm pretty much already over being pregnant! Ha! Last pregnancy at 24 weeks here for reference.

Things that suck: This horrendous cough (which makes me sound like a smoker- totally acceptable when you're pregnant); Jacob is now sick (with a clear runny nose and cough, so there's really nothing I can do about it); and Ababy contacted me today to tell me that baby's dresser is backordered until October (which totally blows).

Things that don't suck: August seems to be going by pretty quickly, which is great because August usually drags on forever.

Baby #2 - 23 weeks

this picture is awful, which is exactly how I feel... cheers! ;)
How far along: 23 weeks

Baby's size: Papaya

Weight gain: 9lbs.

Maternity clothes: I finally pulled down my maternity clothes from the attic, so I've worn a couple shirts/tank tops from last time. But other than that, I'm still squeezing into regular clothes!

Stretch marks: None

Sleep: Taking all that I can get!

Gender: BOY!

Movement: Lots! Still haven't felt hiccups yet though.

Best moment this week: I went to Rhea Lana resale this Saturday with a friend, and scooped up a BUNCH of winter clothes for Baby #2. Since Jacob was born in the summer, most of his smaller clothes won't be warm enough for this baby. I think we have most the clothes we'll need for the beginning months, aside from teeny tiny socks and gloves.

Worst moment this week: I have been sick and pathetic this week! I got acid reflux on Saturday afternoon thru Sunday night, which I thought had left me with a sore throat and cough. Turns out, no- I actually now have a sinus infection or just really bad allergies. I'm trying to muscle thru it on my own, since the mucus isn't green. Just taking Benadryl at night and Sudafed around the clock, oh and wearing out my Neti Pot. I love that thing!

Looking forward to: I'm co-hosting a "sprinkle" for a friend this Saturday, and I'm really hoping we'll get to go on a little family road trip on Sunday. Fingers crossed I feel ok!

Food cravings: Nothing really...

Weirdest food I ate this week: Can't think of anything...

Anything making you queasy or sick: Jacob's poopy diapers

Labor signs: None

Symptoms: Acid reflux this week, headaches and just overall tiredness.

Workouts: Nothing this week, it's been too hot!!

What I miss: Sleeping good and WINE!

Similarities/differences between last pregnancy: Still feeling very similar! Last pregnancy at 23 weeks here for reference.

Things that suck: This Texas heat! Doing anything outside in 100° temps is nearly impossible!

Things that don't suck: It's already mid-August...I can almost smell my first PSL... ;)

Baby #2 - 22 weeks

How far along: 22 weeks

Baby's size: Spaghetti squash

Weight gain: 9lbs.

Maternity clothes: I folded and bought a pair of maternity cropped leggings, for errands and such. They are suuuuuper comfy! I also ordered a few things from Gap (40% off sale). Will update you once I get them!

Stretch marks: None yet

Sleep: I'm so exhausted come bedtime and I fall asleep easily, but I always wake up around 1:30-2 to pee and cannot fall back to sleep! Saturday morning I laid awake from 3-6:30am!!! What the heck!

Gender: BOY!

Movement: So so much! If the amount of movement in utero is any indication of this kid's personality, he's going to be really hyper! Ha!

Best moment this week: We had a really nice relaxing weekend. Got a few things done around the house, did some purging and cleaning, and have started getting the nursery together.

Worst moment this week: After 2 full days of cleaning and purging, I was feeling awful on Friday! Just really tired and my stomach was really tight, almost like Braxton Hicks! I guess I'm overdoing it.

Looking forward to: Some of the nursery furniture is being delivered today, so I'm really anxious and excited to see that!!!

Food cravings: BLTs and peaches (still), but I've also really loved bagels with cream cheese this week!

Weirdest food I ate this week: Nothing, really....

Anything making you queasy or sick: Jacob's poopy diapers

Labor signs: None

Symptoms: Lower back pain, thirsty and queasy when hungry.

Workouts: I went for 2 good evening walks this week. Love that alone time!

What I miss: It was hard being one of the only people not drinking at the party this weekend, but I'm feeling good this week!

Similarities/differences between last pregnancy: Still feeling very similar! Although last week I got a little ahead of myself, saying the bumps are evening out...that is definitely not the case! Haha! Last pregnancy at 22 weeks here for reference.

Things that suck: Being large and in charge in this Texas heat. Woof!

Things that don't suck: We started looking at/for new cars for me. I need a larger vehicle for the fam bam.
