Acetaminophen and vaccinations

Jacob got his 2-month shots about 3 hours ago, and our pediatrician told us NOT to give Tylenol every 4 hours (like most recommend), but instead to only give when needed.

There was a study done regarding the affect of Tylenol on infants after shots, and it basically determined that acetaminophen lowers fever in infants after vaccinations, but it also prevents the desired immune response.  There's more details here.

Anyways, just thought I'd share this little tid bit of information.

Cheers!
Kate
