Judson - 8 months

Age: 8 months

Height: we don't go back until 9 months

Weight: we went to the pediatrician a few weeks ago for what I thought was an ear infection (turned out to be teething), and he weighed 19lbs. 10.5oz.

Milestones: Judson is on the go!! He refuses to sit still for more than a second. He's constantly chasing after his brother and dogs, pulling-up on everything, and he's just started cruising on the tables and couches. We moved Judd to his convertible carseat recently, and he loves it! So much  more room for him, and he can see his brother better. He's been "talking" a lot lately, and I'm pretty sure he is saying "mama" with meaning...which pretty much melts my heart! We started letting Judd walk around in his walker and he really likes that! Most of the time Jacob pushes him around, but occasionally Judd gets to move on his own.

Sleep: A few weeks ago Judd started teething, he was super drooly and fussy. I think he also got a bit of a cold, so he was waking up at night. I fed him for 2 weeks at night because he seemed to need it, either the milk or the comfort, not sure and don't care. During those 2 weeks, we moved, so I know that threw him off too. But, he cut his first 2 teeth and seems to be doing better now, so we're back to sleeping through the night (7:30pm-7am). He's pretty much down to 2 naps per day, at 9am and 1pm. If he takes a short afternoon nap, we might put him down in the early evening for a catnap, but most of the time we just put him down for bed a bit early.

Eating: We are on the same schedule as last month (current schedule here), so I'm nursing 3x/day and giving 1 bottle of pumped milk before bed, and he's eating 3 solid meals. I've tried bigger finger foods and he doesn't really like them, so we are still doing purees.

Clothes size: 12 months

Diaper size: size 3

Teeth: He got his bottom 2 teeth this month!

Favorite toy: Oh boy, since moving we've unpacked ALL THE TOYS and he is in heaven up in the playroom! There's so much he hasn't seen and he loves just letting loose and crawling around to everything.

Likes: big brother, eating, sleeping, being outside, the dogs

Dislikes: being overtired or hungry

Personality: Judd is still very easy-going, unless we're off schedule or he's hungry.

Best moment: celebrating my birthday with my TWO boys this year, when Jacob spent a long weekend at Camp Coco and we got to spend 1-on-1 time with Judson. I could tell he loved it. And Judd's baptism yesterday.

Worst moment: teething- he was a bear for a few days there!

Looking forward to: August is going to be a very quiet month for us- lots of unpacking and getting settled. Jacob starts school in early September, so we're just enjoying this month at our new house!

Our Schedule - toddler + 8 month old

Hi, friends! Happy Friday! I have been meaning to post this schedule for two months now because we have been on the exact same schedule since Judd was 6 months old. This schedule is so great, and we really love it! I think, though, Judd is ready to push his nap times back about 30 minutes (to 2 1/2 hours of wake time). But for now- this is our schedule!

7am - Judd wakes up, I nurse him
7:30-8am - Jacob wakes up, he goes potty and we have a dance party
8am - breakfast, all 3 of us eat at this time together at the table
P L A Y
9am - Judd goes down for his morning nap (usually 1.5 hours)
I pump during this time, clean up and tidy up the house. And P L A Y!
11am - Judd nurses
P L A Y
12pm - lunch, all 3 of us eat at this time together at the table
1pm - Judd goes down for his afternoon nap (usually 1.5 hours)
1:15pm - Jacob goes down for his nap (usually 1.5-2 hours)
Mommy's playtime! I usually catch up on DVR, blog or prep dinner during this time.
3pm - Judd nurses
P L A Y
4:30pm - daddy gets home!
5:30pm - dinner, all 4 of us eat at this time together at the table
P L A Y
6:45pm - bath with big bro
7pm - Judd gets a bottle of pumped milk, then I nurse him and rock him to sleep. He's generally in bed by 7:30pm. During this time, Josh watches a cartoon with Jacob while he drinks a smoothie before bed.
8pm - Jacob goes to bed. We read 2 books, sing "Jesus Loves Me" and lights out.
After the boys go to bed, Josh and I tidy up the house, one of us usually goes for a run and I pump.
Then we watch a show, drink some wine or just go to bed.

Zzzzz! Bed sounds good right now! :)

Life Lately

It seems like life is moving so fast lately, I can barely keep up! Judson is crawling now and constantly trying to keep up with big bro, which seems to move time even faster! I remember this being such a fun phase with Jacob, like he finally understood the world around him, and even more so with Judd. Watching him "chase" his brother and dogs puts a hug smile on my face.

On top of the daily things like teething and crawling and pulling-up and pooping in the potty (still working on that one!), we moved! We are now in the house of our dreams and I am loving it so much more than I ever thought I would! The additional space for activities (and junk), the huge backyard, the amazingly friendly neighborhood, the beautiful city...its just everything I was looking for and so much more!

We are slowly getting settled. Most of the boxes are put up or unpacked. We still have several rooms to furnish and most rooms need to be decorated. But! We're all alive, enjoying our days so much more, now that I'm not anxiety-ridden over noise and packing and moving. I'll be doing a full post on moving day and a house tour soon, because I cannot forget all those details!

For now, I'll leave you with some pictures of our life lately. Apologies for the poor photo quality!

Judson - 7 months

Age: 7 months

Height: we don't go back until 9 months

Weight: we don't go back until 9 months

Milestones: Judson is sitting up unassisted, pulling up and trying to crawl, eating lots of baby food, babbling all the time, and such a funny little guy! He said "mama" the other day, which totally melted my heart! He's still in his infant carseat, but we'll be moving him to the convertible seat soon because he's almost too long for the infant one! Judd can pick up small objects with his fingers and gets very close to putting them in his mouth.

Sleep: Judd is still sleeping really good! He sleeps 7:30pm-7am, and most nights he doesn't wake up at all. He takes two naps- 9am and 1pm. Lately he's been taking a short afternoon nap, so he's been taking a third nap around 4-4:30pm. But overall- he's a fantastic sleeper!

Eating: I am still nursing Judd 3x/day PLUS we give him a bottle of pumped milk right before bed, and he gets 3x meals each day. He loves chewing on Puffs, and we'll be adding in some finger foods soon.

Clothes size: 9 and 12 months

Diaper size: size 3

Teeth: none yet!

Favorite toy: He still loves all of big brother's legos, hot wheels, balls, etc. We got out the activity table and he really loves standing at that!

Likes: big brother, eating, sleeping, being outside, the dogs

Dislikes: being overtired or hungry

Personality: Judd is still very easy-going, unless we're off schedule or he's hungry.

Best moment: We had a fun month! Father's Day at the stockyards, a trip out to the lake, lots of fun playdates and swimming!

Worst moment: Judd had an allergic reaction to something (doctor thinks it was contact dermatitis, meaning he touched something (like grass) and then touched his eye). It was really sad!

Looking forward to: Moving into our new house!!

Life Lately

As I was drafting up Judd's 7 month update, I realized I haven't posted since Judd's 6 month update! Yikes! We've been super busy and I just haven't even had a chance to stop and think! Here's a quick update on what's been going on! (I apologize for all the iPhone pictures)

We celebrated Father's Day with a super low-key weekend. We went to the Fort Worth stockyards with Josh's dad, watched the cattle drive, ate lunch and headed home.

We've had a few playdates with friends. Finger painting, library storytimes, and lots of swimming!

Judd had an allergic reaction to something (doctor thinks it was contact dermatitis, so he touched something (like grass) and then rubbed his eye). Poor guy! It broke my heart seeing him like this!

We started potty training with Jacob over the 4th of July weekend, and it honestly couldn't have gone any better. We're basically 1 week in and he's only had a handful of accidents. He hasn't gone poop in the potty yet (only in his undies), but I've read that's pretty common.

Judd celebrated his FIRST FOURTH by pulling up!! Crazy kid!

And of course, we had to take some pictures of these little firecrackers because they really do light up our lives! :)

In addition to just every day life, we purchased a new house! We've decided to keep our current house and rent it out, so we are now landlords! Kinda scary, but we definitely see the financial incentives too.

We did a month lease-back to the sellers of our new house, so we don't actually move in until the end of July. Our first tenant moves in at the beginning of August, so we're approaching a SUPER BUSY few weeks! We've been crazy setting up new utilities, lining up painters, frantically trying to find a new school for Jacob closer to our new house, finding a new swim school for Jacob closer to our new house, etc., etc., etc.

I feel like my life is just one big unending to-do list! If anyone knows where I can buy a clone, let me know!! :)

Judson - 6 months

Age: 6 months

Height: 28"

Weight: 18lbs.

Milestones: Judson is sitting up unassisted so good now! Like, professionally! Ha! I don't have to sit right behind him anymore and he hardly falls. (mostly when big brother comes by and knocks him over) He starting to practice his "Bs", always saying "ba ba ba", and he loves it when we repeat it back to him. He's been leaning forward while sitting and reaching for stuff, almost like he's about to start crawling! Once he tumbles over though, he just face plants, so he has a ways to go! But it's pretty crazy!

Sleep: Judd is such a great sleeper! Thank you, Jesus! He sleeps 7:30pm-7am straight though! Some mornings he wakes early, but he doesn't wake at all during the night. Woohoo! He's taking 3 naps right now, 2 really good naps (atleast 1.5 hours) and 1 catnap in the evenings.

Eating: My goodness, Judd loves to eat! He's eating 3 meals already, and would easily eat 5oz at each feeding if I'd let him. He is also still exclusively breastfed, nursing 4x/day.

Clothes size:  9 months

Diaper size: size 3

Teeth: none yet!

Favorite toy: Judd loves anything he can grab and put in his mouth- Legos, Hot Wheels, books, etc. He's a pretty chill baby.

Likes: Judd looooves his big brother! He loves watching the dogs, going outside, gnawing on his Sofie, eating and sleeping.

Dislikes: being overtired or hungry

Personality: Judd really is an easy-going baby. He very predictable, for the most part, and content as long as we're on schedule.

Best moment: This past month was a lot of fun. We went to a couple play dates, took Judd to the zoo for the first time, and celebrated Jacob's THIRD birthday!

Worst moment: Judd had a bit of a sleep regression or maybe development issue this month. He was waking up more at night, taking short naps or refusing them all together, but I think we've gotten through that and he's much better now!

Looking forward to: Father's Day!

How is Jacob adjusting?: I'm going to take this question off because Jacob is back to normal and doing awesome!

Jacob is THREE!

The balloons are limp, the cupcakes have been eaten, and daddy is back at work. Jacob's birthday weekend has officially come to an end. But that doesn't mean I can't relive all its glory through this post! Let's go!

We started the weekend on Friday, his actual birthday, with donuts for breakfast (just happened to be National Donut Day, too!) and a birthday party for another friend. It worked out good because Jacob got to play with his friends at a super fun trampoline park ON his actual birthday! I think he was a little confused why people were singing to her and not him, but he got over it quickly.

Daddy stayed home with Judd because he hurt his back and wanted to be well enough to partake in Jacob's party the next day. So, Jacob and I had a blast at the trampoline park!

For his birthday dinner, we got Sonic because he loves their corndogs. I even splurged and let him have a small chocolate shake. He is one lucky little boy!

Before bed he rode around on his scooter (gift from mom and dad) with his new stuffed Bolt (gift from his Aunt Carrie). I just know he had the best day!

Saturday morning we headed to the pool early and set-up for Jacob's Lightning McQueen party! I went low-key this year and it ended up being so.much.fun!

We actually managed a family picture! Go us! (thanks Amy!)

Everyone spent the first hour swimming and splashing around. This was Judd's first time in a pool, too! I think he liked it!

Chatting with his "girlfriend", Etta.

And he spent a good portion of the party jumping in to the pool with his Grandpas. Love this picture!

Then we ate pizza, sang Happy Birthday and had cupcakes!

He loooooved his Lightning McQueen cake!

Then we headed home to open all his presents. He was having so much fun playing, he barely took a nap!

We spent the rest of the weekend opening and playing with all his gifts. He had so much fun!

As I watch him play and create, I can't help but marvel at just how big he's gotten. He so much fun these days! So imaginative, and creative. His mind is constantly exploring and discovering.

Mommy and daddy love you so much, Jacob! Can't wait for another FUN year!
