Five on Friday + Oh Hey, Friday!

Hey, y'all!!! Happy Friday! I am so so thankful it's Friday and the weekend is upon us! Jacob is napping, so I literally have hours until daddy is home. Woohoo! :)

Today I'm linking up with the lovely ladies of Five on Friday and Oh Hey, Friday! So, let's get this party started! :)

ONE.
Lately my patience has seriously been worn thin. I wake up cranky, I go through the day cranky, and it isn't until Josh gets home that I can truly relax. Makes for long days (and weeks). Jacob's pre-school posted this on Facebook this morning and it really resonated with me. After a wild trip to the park with friends this morning, it's just what I needed to read. Breathe and relax.

TWO.
On the subject of wild and crazy, please look at this picture. This is how Jacob insists on eating his lunch. Ha!

THREE.
I rescheduled our maternity pictures for mid-November, so my bump would be bigger, which gives me a little more time to plan our outfits. We're taking them outdoors at a nature preserve, so I'm thinking creams/oranges/navy. I loooove this picture and plan to recreate it, with Jakey in the middle. :) Thoughts?

Really want to do a fall maturnity photo shoot. This pic is so cute!

FOUR.
I also started thinking about our newborn shoot. I love the lifestyle look, like in our own house. But I really want some pictures like I did with Jacob, in front of the backdrop. Soooo I dunno?! Making decisions while 7.5 months pregnant shouldn't be allowed! :) Here's our outfits for that.

Picking out outfits for 3 guys is actually so much fun! I love coordinating with different prints And it's nice because dudes don't have accessories (which is not really my strong suit). I get so giddy just thinking about future photo shoots with all my boys, especially once Judson can crawl/walk and show off his outfit. EEK! Loves!

Accessory Jane is running a pre-order for these goooorgeous Tartan Plaid Blanket Scarves that are so hot right now. $28 is a great price and AJ is a lovely business, I've always been extremely happy with everything I've ordered from them, and these ship in 2-3 weeks!

Hope y'all have a looooovely weekend! We have our diaper shower on Sunday, which I am so looking forward to! Can't wait to see all our friends and family, and celebrate sweet baby Judd!

Five on Friday + Oh Hey, Friday!

Linking up with all the lovely gals for Five on Friday again this week! And this week, I got invited to join Oh Hey, Friday! Sooo...we're linkin' up double time! FUN! Sharing a few items that I've already put on my Christmas List. So, Santa- if you're reading....hint, hint ;)

ONE.

With Baby #2, I think I'll be doing a lot of babywearing and nursing in public. Neither of which I did much of with Jacob, because I didn't really have to! I'm thinking this breastfeeding cover that turns into a scarf is genius and the perfect accessory!

TWO.
I've been on the hunt for a great wallet/wristlet that can hold all my credit cards, money, cell phone and keys. I think this one is totally versatile and would be so easy to throw in a diaper bag or yank out when I'm out alone (gasp).

THREE.

Something I've lusted over for a year now is this Herringbone puffer jacket at JCrew. It's just so beautiful, and would go with everythang!!

FOUR.

I wear two "J" necklaces every singe day. I never take them off, even for showers or working out. They were pretty cheap and are starting to get a little tarnished (and dare I say rusty!), so I'd really like to "upgrade" to better quality necklaces, considering I wear them 24/7. These Stella & Dot necklaces are gorgeous, high quality and I can have the entire name engraved on them, which I love!

FIVE.

And last, but certainly not least. I need/want a new watch. My MK watch has been through the ringer. This one is classic.

What about y'all?? Have you been eyeing anything for Christmas already? Or am I really just that shallow? Cheers!!

Five on Friday - Halloween inspiration

HAPPY FRIDAY, Y'ALL!!!! I am beyond excited that Five on Friday is back! Hip hip hooray!!!

I typically don't decorate for Halloween, usually just for Fall...which is kinda all-encompassing. BUT, Jacob is at a super-fun age, and he's really enjoyed the idea of Halloween (so far), so I've decided that I will be decorating for Halloween this year. Woohoo!

I've been scouring the internets for easy, simple, and FUN Halloween décor, and compiled my FAV FIVE here. All of these will make an appearance in our casa this year! Let's go!

ONE.

This front porch from Jessica at Little Baby Garvin. I love love the simplicity of the bats and spiderweb, plus all the pumpkins. So cute and I scored all this at the Dollar Store last week!

TWO.

This Halloween deco mesh wreath. It's given me major inspiration for a Halloween wreath, and I can't wait to share my final outcome with you! Stay tuned for a full Halloween decor post.

THREE.

This super cute Happy Halloween banner for the mantel. Cheap and cute!

FOUR.

This cute sign for the front yard, from none other than LBG. It's so stinkin' cute (especially if you're OBsessed with Hocus Pocus, like our fam)!

FIVE.

Can't forget the basic "punkin head" as our pumpkin says. We've got 5 of these floating around the house! $1 at Target!

What are y'all loving for Halloweeen??? Do share!

Five on Friday - Spring Dreaming

Totally not related to this link-up, but I started Rodan + Fields yesterday and I'm so excited to see how it goes. I have seriously sensitive skin that is dry in the winter and oily in the summer. I've always had the hardest time finding face products that are sensitive enough, but still work. I've got my fingers crossed for this program, and I'll let you know how it goes!! Give me 2 weeks. :)

Now onto the good stuff. I'm linking up with some gorgeous gals for Five on Friday, yet again, and sharing FIVE items I'm goo-ing and gaa-ing over for spring. With the unseasonably warm weather we've had lately, I can't stop thinking about spring! Not to mention I've seen daffodils in full bloom already, and TONS of growth throughout the neighborhood. Woohoo! Can't wait!

So let's get started...

ONE.
These gorgeous Nikes. If you follow me on IG (@KateSoko), you know that I actually already got these from my hubby for Valentine's Day, and I luuuurve them!

TWO.
This striped dress. I'm really into stripes and this dress comes in tall, sooo I pretty much couldn't put this in my shopping bag quick enough.

THREE.
These skimmer jeans. I'm trying to talk myself into believing that white jeans are realistic with a crazy toddler. Yeah, good luck.

FOUR.
This denim jacket. I've never actually owned a denim jacket before, so I'm not 100% sold on it, but I'm hoping this one fits me good and I can try it out! Do any of y'all have one? You like it? They seem so versatile! And perfect for a busy mommy!

Olivia Moon Raglan Sleeve Mixed Media Top
FIVE.
This super cute baseball tunic. How comfy does this shirt look?? I love a good baseball tee, and especially one that covers your bum! How perf!

So tell me- what else are y'all eyeing for spring?!

Five on Friday - Resolutions

I really hate that word. Resolutions. It's so...final. Like, this is what I promise to do. End of story. If it was that easy, we'd all be perfect, right?!

I like to use the word GOALS because at the end of the day, that's what they are, right? GOALS we hope to achieve.

I've decided to make 5 GOALS for myself this year. And since it's Friday, I'll link-up with some fabulous gals (Darci, April, Christina and Natasha) and do FIVE ON FRIDAY!

So here we go.

ONE.
Eat healthier and workout more. This is such a lame one, I know. But as I get older, and now that I've had a kid, the only solid way for me to keep the lbs off is through my diet. And lifting weights. Both things I haaaaaate. So, my goal is simply to workout more, and eat cleaner and focus on portion control.

TWO.
Cut down on my spending. Every month Josh gets on my ass about spending, and everything month I'm like "whaaaaat????" I seriously don't know HOW I spend money, but I do. So I'm going to make it a conscious thing.

THREE.
Cut back on social media. This is going to be really hard for me. It's become almost a habit to check all my social media every hour or so. And WHY?! It's so dumb! And I'm missing so much stuff here. In the present. Where it matters.

FOUR.
Take 1 fun family field trip each month. Whether it's the zoo, museum, splash park, etc. Once per month. All 3 of us.

FIVE.
Start going to church more regularly. Now that we've successfully left Jacob in the nursery, there's no excuse. It is important to me, so I will make it a priority.

That's it! Phew! I'm exhausted! Haha! So what about you? Have you set any goals for yourself?? Have any fun family field trip ideas for us??? :)

Five on Friday - printables I'm loving!

Hi friends!!! I hope you're all having a lovely Friday. Can you smell the weekend??? I sure can!!

We have a fun-filled weekend ahead of us, so I'm trying to soak up the peace of today as much as possible. Having calm days is nice every once in awhile!

If you follow me on Instagram (katesoko), you know Jacob and I went to a beautiful nature preserve close to our house this morning. I was scoping out spots for the family pictures we're taking next week, and I think I found some awesome options, no?

Five on Friday - Love List

I have been working on a Love List post for a week now, and I decided to go ahead and incorporate it into a Five on Friday Link-up...because...why not?!

So let's get started...FIVE things I'm LOVING right now!!

ONE.
my new washing machine - We got our old washing machine from a sweet friend FOR FREE a few months before we got married, and they worked great all this time! Almost 6 years! But a week or two ago, the washing machine started leaking. Turns out it started rusting on the bottom and sprung a leak. We decided to go ahead and buy a new one, seeing as we've never actually paid for one ourselves. To say we've been living in a cave for the past 10 years is clearly an understatement. We got a top loader, because we're just too damn tall for front loaders. And this thing is aweeeeesome (in the words of Tommy Boy- bahahahah!!!).

TWO.
these aztec palazzo pants - oh, sweet jeebus. These pants are so comfortable, it almost feels like you're naked. And they're LONG! The website says 35" inseam, but I think they're longer.

THREE.
my new bedroom curtains that I made all by myself without a sewing machine. Yes yes and YES! Be on the lookout for a DIY tutorial, y'all.

FOUR.
these floral skinny jeans - how perfectly dainty while still comfortable and easy? I need these right now. (and they come in long!) GAP is having their fall sale right now, so I just scored them for 35% off! Perfect!

FIVE.
this new sign - after returning from vacation, the only thing I could think was "There is no place like home." So when I stumbled on this cute sign, I just had to snag it. And it looks great on our B&W wall in our family room!

So what are YOU loving right now?? Link up with us and tell me!!

Five on Friday - fall wish list

It's a lazy, rainy Friday here and I'm obsessing over fall ((like literally drooling just thinking about my first pumpkin spiced latte of the season)), so I'm dedicating this Five on Friday to my fall wish list!

I started buying fall clothes for Jacob a few weeks ago ((24mo and 2T- can you believe it?!)), which triggered me to spruce-up my fall closet. Here's some of the yummy fall fashions that I've already snagged.

ONE.
Riding boots- the softer the leather, the better. I want to look like I belong on the back of a horse, riding around the English countryside with Kate Middleton and His Magesty Prince George of Cambridge ((best name ever? quite possibly.)). These are a soft dark brown leather, with great buckles and...drum roll please...adjustable calf buckles. Finally! I happen to have "athletic calves", which usually make tall boots impossible to wear. These are the answer to my #biggirlproblems. Thank you, Steve Madden!

TWO.
Gap leggings- yes, they're maternity. Buy a size down and thank me later. These are the softest, thickest, bestest leggings I've ever worn. I originally found them when I was pregnant, and wore them around the house 24/7. But now I just can't get rid of them, and quite honestly- I don't want to. They're perfect!

THREE.
Oversized tanks and tees- especially with aforementioned leggings. They cover up your butt, are comfy and cozy, and look fab with a gorg scarf and pumpkin spiced latte. Nuff said.

FOUR.
Gap sexy boyfriend jeans- I particularly love these with a great pair of leopard print flats. These are my go-to jeans. They are SO comfortable, but still sexy and they pair great with flats, boots, heels and flip flops! The versatility is essential for crazy Texas weather.

FIVE.
Link and Tassel bracelets- one in every color! Yes, please! These are so adorable and can jazz-up any outfit. And dare I say they're a bit festive?!

What are YOU eyeing for fall?? I'm dying to refresh my wardrobe, so I'd love to hear from you!
