Hi friends! Happy Friday!! So glad this long weekend is finally here! Looking forward to some much-needed family time!

I wanted to pop in and share our last new product with you- our new liquid eyeliners!!! I've never really been a liquid eyeliner girl myself, they have always seemed to hard to work with?! But I have tons of friends that use it, and I'm pretty sure they all high-tailed it to my site when these were released!

Our liquid eyeliners come in 5 different colors (black, brown, grey, blue and green) and have an ultra fine tip for precision lining. I absolutely love these for creating a beautiful cat eye or winged eye.

Here's a quick demo from yours truly.

Here's a fun purple eye with our cream shadow in Dainty, shadow palette 3 and our liquid eyeliner in Proper.

Am I right? I've personally used a handful of different self-tanning products, but was never happy with the results.

Until now! I am beyond obsessed with Younique's new self-tanning products! They are easy to apply, smell good (almost a floral scent, not chemical or offensive at all!), will not stain your clothes or sheets, not streaky or blotchy, not orange (I think it gives almost a redish color, which is very similar to a natural tan or sunburn!), and long-lasting (5-7 days!).

I've done 4 applications in the last week with both products and I'm IN LOVE! Watch this video for my application tips and tricks.
I do! I love chapstick! But my lips are small and need a bit of color, so I usually reach for a liner and gloss. But gloss is too shiny sometimes and makes me look too "done up" for some occasions.

Enter tinted lip balm. Or Younique's new Lip Bon Bons! These are a luxurious lip treatment like nothing you've ever experienced! They are packed with antioxidants (pomegranate and gochi berry), sunflower seed oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil, and 4/5 have a dash of color.

Our lips have no natural moisture or oil to them, so that's why they're constantly getting dry and chapped. These lip bon bons will solve this problem, plus give you a beautiful hint of color. How perfect!

The five offerings are named after some of the best desserts! A decedent treat for your lips, not your hips!

If you're on social media, you've probably seen Younique's liquid foundation paired with our powder puff brush. It's a simple way to get a flawless photoshop finish and it's been SUCH a good pair for awhile!

But, there's a new guy in town. Our new liquid foundation brush!!

I won't lie, I was very skeptical when I heard we were releasing a liquid foundation brush. Because. Why? Everyone loved the puff brush, so why would anyone switch??

Well, I'm here to tell y'all- I've switched!!! And not only because it's free for me- ha! ;) The liquid foundation brush has an angled head to fit around your eyes and nose, plus the bristles are packed thicker, which gives a flawless, seamless finish. Truly, it is beautiful!

Here's a quick video and demo. Let me know if y'all have any questions or if you need help color matching!

Age: 9 months

Height: 30"

Weight: 20lbs. 4.5oz.

Milestones: Judd has been crawling for awhile now, and can now crawl up stairs, pull up, cruise and stand up on his own! He loves walking with his little push walker thing, too! He can pick up small objects easily now, plays SO BIG and is soooo close to clapping!

Sleep: For the most part, Judd sleeps 8pm-7am and rarely wakes up at night (woohoo!!!). He takes 2 naps each day, usually around 9am and 1pm and they last anywhere from 1-2 hours.

Eating: We are on the same schedule as last month (current schedule here), so I'm nursing 3x/day and giving 1 bottle of pumped milk before bed, and he's eating 3 solid meals. We just recently started table food and he really loves it! He's such a good boy!

Clothes size: 12 and 18 months

Diaper size: size 4

Teeth: 2

Favorite toy: His brother? haha! They are constantly wrestling and playing with each other. It's so sweet (most of the time)!

Likes: big brother, eating, sleeping, being outside, the dogs

Dislikes: being overtired or hungry

Personality: Judd is still very easy-going, unless we're off schedule or he's hungry.

Best moment: we've had a really fun month, can't really think of a specific moment that was great though....

Worst moment: teething

Looking forward to: we have lots of fun stuff coming up this month, also hoping for some cooler weather!!!

Age: 8 months

Height: we don't go back until 9 months

Weight: we went to the pediatrician a few weeks ago for what I thought was an ear infection (turned out to be teething), and he weighed 19lbs. 10.5oz.

Milestones: Judson is on the go!! He refuses to sit still for more than a second. He's constantly chasing after his brother and dogs, pulling-up on everything, and he's just started cruising on the tables and couches. We moved Judd to his convertible carseat recently, and he loves it! So much more room for him, and he can see his brother better. He's been "talking" a lot lately, and I'm pretty sure he is saying "mama" with meaning...which pretty much melts my heart! We started letting Judd walk around in his walker and he really likes that! Most of the time Jacob pushes him around, but occasionally Judd gets to move on his own.

Sleep: A few weeks ago Judd started teething, he was super drooly and fussy. I think he also got a bit of a cold, so he was waking up at night. I fed him for 2 weeks at night because he seemed to need it, either the milk or the comfort, not sure and don't care. During those 2 weeks, we moved, so I know that threw him off too. But, he cut his first 2 teeth and seems to be doing better now, so we're back to sleeping through the night (7:30pm-7am). He's pretty much down to 2 naps per day, at 9am and 1pm. If he takes a short afternoon nap, we might put him down in the early evening for a catnap, but most of the time we just put him down for bed a bit early.

Eating: We are on the same schedule as last month (current schedule here), so I'm nursing 3x/day and giving 1 bottle of pumped milk before bed, and he's eating 3 solid meals. I've tried bigger finger foods and he doesn't really like them, so we are still doing purees.

Clothes size: 12 months

Diaper size: size 3

Teeth: He got his bottom 2 teeth this month!

Favorite toy: Oh boy, since moving we've unpacked ALL THE TOYS and he is in heaven up in the playroom! There's so much he hasn't seen and he loves just letting loose and crawling around to everything.

Likes: big brother, eating, sleeping, being outside, the dogs

Dislikes: being overtired or hungry

Personality: Judd is still very easy-going, unless we're off schedule or he's hungry.

Best moment: celebrating my birthday with my TWO boys this year, when Jacob spent a long weekend at Camp Coco and we got to spend 1-on-1 time with Judson. I could tell he loved it. And Judd's baptism yesterday.

Worst moment: teething- he was a bear for a few days there!

Looking forward to: August is going to be a very quiet month for us- lots of unpacking and getting settled. Jacob starts school in early September, so we're just enjoying this month at our new house!
Happy Friday! I have been meaning to post this schedule for two months now because we have been on the exact same schedule since Judd was 6 months old. This schedule is so great, and we really love it! I think, though, Judd is ready to push his nap times back about 30 minutes (to 2 1/2 hours of wake time). But for now- this is our schedule!

7:30-8am - Jacob wakes up, he goes potty and we have a dance party

8am - breakfast, all 3 of us eat at this time together at the table

P L A Y

9am - Judd goes down for his morning nap (usually 1.5 hours)

I pump during this time, clean up and tidy up the house. And P L A Y!

11am - Judd nurses

1:15pm - Jacob goes down for his nap (usually 1.5-2 hours)

Mommy's playtime! I usually catch up on DVR, blog or prep dinner during this time.

8pm - Jacob goes to bed. We read 2 books, sing "Jesus Loves Me" and lights out.

After the boys go to bed, Josh and I tidy up the house, one of us usually goes for a run and I pump.

Kate Sokolewiczhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11761661281810687774noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1733039040068626065.post-66233908543671091092015-08-03T10:46:00.001-05:002015-08-03T12:00:43.293-05:00Life LatelyIt seems like life is moving so fast lately, I can barely keep up! Judson is crawling now and constantly trying to keep up with big bro, which seems to move time even faster! I remember this being such a fun phase with Jacob, like he finally understood the world around him, and even more so with Judd. Watching him "chase" his brother and dogs puts a hug smile on my face.

On top of the daily things like teething and crawling and pulling-up and pooping in the potty (still working on that one!), we moved! We are now in the house of our dreams and I am loving it so much more than I ever thought I would! The additional space for activities (and junk), the huge backyard, the amazingly friendly neighborhood, the beautiful city...its just everything I was looking for and so much more!

We are slowly getting settled. Most of the boxes are put up or unpacked. We still have several rooms to furnish and most rooms need to be decorated. But! We're all alive, enjoying our days so much more, now that I'm not anxiety-ridden over noise and packing and moving. I'll be doing a full post on moving day and a house tour soon, because I cannot forget all those details!

For now, I'll leave you with some pictures of our life lately. Apologies for the poor photo quality!

Age: 7 months

Height: we don't go back until 9 months

Weight: we don't go back until 9 months

Milestones: Judson is sitting up unassisted, pulling up and trying to crawl, eating lots of baby food, babbling all the time, and such a funny little guy! He said "mama" the other day, which totally melted my heart! He's still in his infant carseat, but we'll be moving him to the convertible seat soon because he's almost too long for the infant one! Judd can pick up small objects with his fingers and gets very close to putting them in his mouth.

Sleep: Judd is still sleeping really good! He sleeps 7:30pm-7am, and most nights he doesn't wake up at all. He takes two naps- 9am and 1pm. Lately he's been taking a short afternoon nap, so he's been taking a third nap around 4-4:30pm. But overall- he's a fantastic sleeper!

Eating: I am still nursing Judd 3x/day PLUS we give him a bottle of pumped milk right before bed, and he gets 3x meals each day. He loves chewing on Puffs, and we'll be adding in some finger foods soon.

Clothes size: 9 and 12 months

Diaper size: size 3

Teeth: none yet!

Favorite toy: He still loves all of big brother's legos, hot wheels, balls, etc. We got out the activity table and he really loves standing at that!

Likes: big brother, eating, sleeping, being outside, the dogs

Dislikes: being overtired or hungry

Personality: Judd is still very easy-going, unless we're off schedule or he's hungry.

Best moment: We had a fun month! Father's Day at the stockyards, a trip out to the lake, lots of fun playdates and swimming!

Worst moment: Judd had an allergic reaction to something (doctor thinks it was contact dermatitis, meaning he touched something (like grass) and then touched his eye). It was really sad!

Looking forward to: Moving into our new house!!
Yikes! We've been super busy and I just haven't even had a chance to stop and think! Here's a quick update on what's been going on! (I apologize for all the iPhone pictures)

We celebrated Father's Day with a super low-key weekend. We went to the Fort Worth stockyards with Josh's dad, watched the cattle drive, ate lunch and headed home.
We started potty training with Jacob over the 4th of July weekend, and it honestly couldn't have gone any better. We're basically 1 week in and he's only had a handful of accidents. He hasn't gone poop in the potty yet (only in his undies), but I've read that's pretty common.
And of course, we had to take some pictures of these little firecrackers because they really do light up our lives! :)
In addition to just every day life, we purchased a new house! We've decided to keep our current house and rent it out, so we are now landlords! Kinda scary, but we definitely see the financial incentives too.

We did a month lease-back to the sellers of our new house, so we don't actually move in until the end of July. Our first tenant moves in at the beginning of August, so we're approaching a SUPER BUSY few weeks! We've been crazy setting up new utilities, lining up painters, frantically trying to find a new school for Jacob closer to our new house, finding a new swim school for Jacob closer to our new house, etc., etc., etc.

I feel like my life is just one big unending to-do list! If anyone knows where I can buy a clone, let me know!! :)

Age: 6 months

Height: 28"

Weight: 18lbs.

Milestones: Judson is sitting up unassisted so good now! Like, professionally! Ha! I don't have to sit right behind him anymore and he hardly falls. (mostly when big brother comes by and knocks him over) He starting to practice his "Bs", always saying "ba ba ba", and he loves it when we repeat it back to him. He's been leaning forward while sitting and reaching for stuff, almost like he's about to start crawling! Once he tumbles over though, he just face plants, so he has a ways to go! But it's pretty crazy!

Sleep: Judd is such a great sleeper! Thank you, Jesus! He sleeps 7:30pm-7am straight though! Some mornings he wakes early, but he doesn't wake at all during the night. Woohoo! He's taking 3 naps right now, 2 really good naps (atleast 1.5 hours) and 1 catnap in the evenings.

Eating: My goodness, Judd loves to eat! He's eating 3 meals already, and would easily eat 5oz at each feeding if I'd let him. He is also still exclusively breastfed, nursing 4x/day.

Clothes size: 9 months

Diaper size: size 3

Teeth: none yet!

Favorite toy: Judd loves anything he can grab and put in his mouth- Legos, Hot Wheels, books, etc. He's a pretty chill baby.

Likes: Judd looooves his big brother! He loves watching the dogs, going outside, gnawing on his Sofie, eating and sleeping.

Dislikes: being overtired or hungry

Personality: Judd really is an easy-going baby. He very predictable, for the most part, and content as long as we're on schedule.

Best moment: This past month was a lot of fun. We went to a couple play dates, took Judd to the zoo for the first time, and celebrated Jacob's THIRD birthday!

Worst moment: Judd had a bit of a sleep regression or maybe development issue this month. He was waking up more at night, taking short naps or refusing them all together, but I think we've gotten through that and he's much better now!

Looking forward to: Father's Day!

How is Jacob adjusting?: I'm going to take this question off because Jacob is back to normal and doing awesome!
The balloons are limp, the cupcakes have been eaten, and daddy is back at work. Jacob's birthday weekend has officially come to an end. But that doesn't mean I can't relive all its glory through this post! Let's go!

We started the weekend on Friday, his actual birthday, with donuts for breakfast (just happened to be National Donut Day, too!) and a birthday party for another friend. It worked out good because Jacob got to play with his friends at a super fun trampoline park ON his actual birthday! I think he was a little confused why people were singing to her and not him, but he got over it quickly.

Daddy stayed home with Judd because he hurt his back and wanted to be well enough to partake in Jacob's party the next day. So, Jacob and I had a blast at the trampoline park!

For his birthday dinner, we got Sonic because he loves their corndogs. I even splurged and let him have a small chocolate shake. He is one lucky little boy!

Before bed he rode around on his scooter (gift from mom and dad) with his new stuffed Bolt (gift from his Aunt Carrie). I just know he had the best day!

Saturday morning we headed to the pool early and set-up for Jacob's Lightning McQueen party! I went low-key this year and it ended up being so.much.fun!

Then we headed home to open all his presents. He was having so much fun playing, he barely took a nap!

We spent the rest of the weekend opening and playing with all his gifts. He had so much fun!

As I watch him play and create, I can't help but marvel at just how big he's gotten. He so much fun these days! So imaginative, and creative. His mind is constantly exploring and discovering.

Age: 3

Height: 40"

Weight: 38lbs.

Milestones: I feel like over the last 6 months Jacob has really morphed into a boy. He's so smart! He knows all his shapes, colors, animals (and corresponding sounds), can count to 20 and knows all his ABCs. He is always singing new songs and will request songs on the radio. I love that he remembers things from day to day, so we can really teach him things now. He's so curious! He is always asking questions, wants to know what everything is and why, and wants to know how things work (future engineer?). He's so funny! He picks up on sarcasm or jokes and is constantly turning it around on us. He's so active! From the moment he wakes up until the time he goes to bed, he is going. He comes out in the family room and dumps all his trucks out before breakfast is even served. Every. Single. Day. This kid can run, he is FAST and he doesn't fall anymore. It's seriously impressive! He can climb all sorts of things at the playground, including a small "climbing wall" type thing. He hasn't quite figured out how to pedal, but we practice a lot on his big wheel. He's so sweet! He's always kissing and loving on his little brother and is the first person to comfort a friend when they get hurt. Jacob also really loves swimming! He's still going to swim class once a week, he just recently completed "Xtreme Waterbabies" and will be moving to "Advanced Aquatots" next week! I'm so excited for him. He can swim underwater for 10 seconds and moves 10 feet in the water. ALL BY HIMSELF!!! It's so impressive! I am so looking forward to going to the pool with him over the summer and seeing his swim skills in a real environment. Overall he's just such a good little boy! He loves his brother more than I ever could have imagined, and that honestly makes me the happiest mom on the planet!

Sleep: Jacob's nighttime sleep is starting to decrease, but he's making up for it during his nap. He generally sleeps 8pm-7am and takes a 2-3 hour nap (usually 1-3/4pm). He's still in his crib, but just recently he's started waking in the middle of the night because he's cramped in there, so I think we'll be moving him straight to a full-sized bed very very soon!

Eating: Jacob is still very picky. One day he will LOVE strawberries, and the next day he won't even look at them. This seems to be a very common toddler issue, so I usually just go with the flow. He doesn't like breakfast immediately in the mornings, so he gets chocolate milk and then will usually request breakfast around 10am. Lunch is usually a sandwich or lunchable-type plate. For dinner he either eats what we're having, or we'll heat up a corndog or something for him. He has a slew of go-to items, which I always keep around the house. Fruit Loops, Honey Nut Cheerios, Eggo waffles, greek yogurt, bagels, PB&J, Lean Pockets, corndogs, macaroni & cheese, turkey hotdogs, cheese sticks, smoothies, grapes, bananas, green apples, strawberries, cuties, Pirate Booty, Goldfish... He will not eat vegetables unless they're mixed in with something and he doesn't know they're there. :) And he really doesn't like meat, except hotdogs and deli meat. He loves pasta, so we make ravioli or tortellini a lot.

Clothes size: 5T

Diaper size: We moved Jacob into 3T-4T pull-ups. He just recently started making progress in the potty training department, which is awesome! If I ask him to go potty, he will go on the toilet, but he doesn't quite understand the feeling of needing to go yet. His school requires him to be accident-free for 2 weeks before he can be sent in underwear, so we still have ALOT of work. When we're home though, I put him in underwear and set my phone timer for every 30 minutes, and I always make him go. Which he does! So now we just need him to recognize the urge to go BEFORE he goes. Ha!

Teeth: He has them all! Praise Jesus! I think his 2 year molars are still moving around though because he will wake up crying in the middle of the night from time to time.

Favorite toy: He still loves all things that "go"...trucks, cars, planes, trains, etc. He got his first set of Lego Duplo for Easter and he loooves those! He's constantly building stuff.

Likes: his brother (hands down- favorite thing), playing outside, playing on the iPad, running around like a crazy person, swimming

Dislikes: being told "no", mealtimes, when we take the electronics away -- these were all listed on his last update and they're all still true

Personality: I touched on this earlier. He's such a sweet, cautious, curious, friendly, smart, funny little boy.

Looking forward to: He's going to a new school over the summer, so I'm excited to see how he likes it and how he grows. He'll also continue at CUMC in the Fall.Kate Sokolewiczhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11761661281810687774noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1733039040068626065.post-27644182755439270002015-05-10T16:34:00.001-05:002015-05-10T16:39:03.636-05:00Judson - 5 months

Age: 5 months

Height: we don't go back until next month

Weight: we don't go back until next month

Milestones: this little boy is really turning into a baby lately- he's talking ALL the time, rolling, grabbing everything (including mommy's coffee!), giggling, laughing, enjoying independent time with his brother, he loves playing on his playmat still, he loves the jumperoo, loves spending time in his Bumbo, loves loves loves his big brother, he sits with us at dinner time in his highchair and loves watching us. He got an outdoor swing for Easter from his Coco, and he LOVES swinging! He really is such a happy, easy-going baby! He's also starting sitting up unassisted pretty well! He's still kinda wobbly, so I have to sit right by him, but he sits upright.

Sleep: Judd is such a good sleeper! He's now sleeping 7:15pm-7am, and he still wakes once at night to eat, but goes right back to sleep. He naps 3-4 times during the day; usually 2 good naps (1.5-2 hours) and 1 short nap (45 mins - 1 hour). On days when he doesn't take great naps, or wakes early from his afternoon nap, we'll let him take a short catnap in the evenings. AND! He's completely out of the swaddle now! Woohoo! Life is so much easier without the swaddle! Current schedule is here. And I'll also note that were about to attempt sleep training again.

Eating: I'm pretty sure Judd just went through a growth spurt, because he started waking up twice at night to eat and was eating longer during the day. But I think he's through it now, and back to eating 5x each day (for about 10 min) and once during the night. I also started solids with him this past week, and he's doing great! So far he's only had banana with breastmilk, but he loves it!

Clothes size: we just moved him to 9-month clothes

Diaper size: size 3

Teeth: none! but I am not looking forward to the day he gets teeth, because he already gnaws on my nipples with his gums and it HURTS!

Favorite toy: he still really loves his Sophie, but he also really loves his jumperoo now too!

Likes: oh gosh, this little boy just loves watching everything! he's so observant. he loves (LOVES) watching his big brother, loves watching his puppy dogs, loves watching me talk, and loves looking at himself in the mirror. he also loves diaper changes and chatting on the changing pad. he also loves being outside, swinging and lounging on our laps.

Dislikes: being overtired or hungry

Personality: Judd really is such a sweet, happy, easy-going baby! He definitely has his moments, but for the most part he's very laid-back.

Best moment: we had a fun month! going to big brother's open house, riding on Thomas!, celebrating Cousin Autumn's FIRST birthday!, and my first Mother's Day as a mommy of two.

Worst moment: I hate that we regressed and started eating again at night, but my mama heart just couldn't handle the crying any more. And knowing that he's my last baby makes it ok.

Looking forward to: Big brother's THIRD birthday (and party), lots of outdoor time, and hopefully meeting his namesake!

How is Jacob adjusting?: Jacob is good. He's a good good boy, and a pretty typical (if not good) nearly 3 year old. Love that sweet kid!

I will also note that we switched BACK to Prevacid. Nexium gave Judd awful tummy pains, constipation and eventual diarrhea. So far it seems to be working just fine for him.

This week has been a doozy, with Judd going through what I think is a growth spurt (at 5 months? not sure?) and Jacob getting swimmer's ear and subsequently throwing up in the middle of the night. Owe! I am exhausted!
With Judd approaching 5 months (on Sunday! I can't believe it!), I wanted to share our current schedule. Not a lot has changed in the schedule department. Judd still can't stay awake for longer than 1.5-1.75 hours before he gets super fussy. I've found that's his optimal waketime. I'm still breastfeeding 5 times each day, but I have started introducing solids once a day, so that's in there too! And we've also bumped his bedtime up a bit.
The boys absolutely love each other and I think I captured it.
I could not love these two boys any more than I do. They are my heart, soul and everything else in between.Kate Sokolewiczhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11761661281810687774noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1733039040068626065.post-81232847515657644932015-04-16T12:14:00.000-05:002015-04-16T14:52:25.264-05:00How I BOOST my hairLet me preface this by saying- I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL. I am a mom. And I do not have tons of time to do my hair. However, I've gotten a bunch of compliments lately on my hair, so I thought I'd share my haircare regime.

I should also note that I have very thin, fine, soft hair. It gets very stringy throughout the day and absorbs every ounce of oil, so by the end of the day I literally look like a mop. Not cute! Here's how I BOOST my locks.

Generally speaking, I am very low maintenance. I take my showers at night, every night, and I wash my hair every single night. Shampoo and conditioner. Then when I get out, I towel dry my hair and spray the Kenra volume spray in the roots. I usually wear my towel around to soak up as much water as possible and go to bed with damp hair. In the mornings, I spray the dry shampoo at the roots to make my hair feel a little more fresh, straighten it and go. It's so simple and easy. If I happen to shower during the day for something (like if we have a party or date night or something to go to), I will use the Big Sexy Hair powder play to boost it up a little more. I also use the CHI pliable polish on my fly-aways and at the tips to define my cut, but just a TINY bit.

1. Pureology Volume Shampoo - This shampoo protects your color and boosts your locks! I wet my hair really good, and lather it up right at the roots and then go down to the tips. I love this shampoo because it keeps my hair really bouncy and shiny. It's sulfate free and vegan, so there's nothing in it to weigh-down your hair.

2. Pureology Volume Conditioner - Again, sulfate free and vegan, so it's really lightweight. After I shampoo, I put a tiny amount in my hands and work it on the tips and then move up to the roots.

3. Kenra Volume Spray - This stuff is AWESOME! I spray it right at my roots on my crown and it seriously does work, even when I air dry my hair at night.

4. Kenra Dry Shampoo - LOVE LOVE LOVE this dry shampoo and it smells so good! Most dry shampoo makes my hair feel really sticky and gross. This actually makes my hair feel CLEAN and boosts it a bit.

5. Big Sexy Hair Powder Play - I really only use this when I plan on going out and need a little extra va-voom. I sprinkle it right on my roots and then tease it a bit.

6. CHI Pliable Polish - This is a really great, lightweight styling gel that I use to keep down fly-aways (especially with all my new hair growth post-baby) and define my curls when I curl my hair.

My sweet Judson, you are BY FAR the sweetest, happiest, loving, happy baby I've ever met. You are such a dream and I am so thankful for that! You sleep when you're "supposed" to sleep, you eat when you're "supposed" to eat and I cannot ask for anything more! You fit into our family perfectly and truly complete us. I love you sweet boy and thank God every single day for you.

Age: 4 months

Height: 25.8"

Weight: 15lbs 5oz

Milestones: Judd has rolled from back to belly and belly to back, although he doesn't do it consistently! He far prefers laying on his back under his playmat batting at all the toys or gnawing on his hands or Sophie's head. :) He is very drooly and constantly has his hands in his mouth! He can grasp toys better now and actually holds on for a few seconds. He has started sitting in his Bumbo more and really loves being able to see his big brother. He's still very wobbly sitting unassisted and usually just folds over flat. Ha! He's also started spending some time in his jumperoo! He loves the lights and the little sun on it, he'll just stand there and stare at the sun for minutes! So cute! We also moved Judd to the big boy seat on the Bob Duallie and he loves being able to see out, and especially loves being next to his big bro. I think Jacob likes it, too! Last "big" thing is that he's sitting in his highchair at the dinner table with us. Since he wakes up from his evening nap around 6pm, he's awake and happy to sit at the table with us. So cute!

Sleep: Judd takes 2 or 3 long naps (1.5-1.75 hours) and 1 short nap (30 minutes) everyday. We attempted 2 weeks of sleep training to drop his nighttime feed, but it didn't go well. Sooo he still eats at night, usually around 4:30-5. Our current schedule is here.

Eating: Judd is still exclusively breastfed. He eats 5 times every day, all are nursing sessions, except at bedtime, we give him a bottle of pumped breastmilk at bedtime (currently 6.5oz).

Clothes size: 3-6mo // 6 month

Diaper size: size 2, although we've moved him to size 3 at night since he's sttn

Teeth: none

Favorite toy: he loves his Sophie

Likes: his brother, diaper/clothes changes, playing airplane, strawberries, silly faces, "elevator ride" with daddy, going outside, his dogs, and anything in his mouth!

Dislikes: when I eat dairy (ugh), being bored or staying in same spot for too long

Personality: Judd is soo happy and easy-going!!! Love him! He really is the perfect addition to our family!

Best moment: celebrating daddy's birthday, first Easter, sleeping through the night (!!!)

Worst moment: lip tie revision :(

Looking forward to: we've got a lot of fun stuff planned this month- Day Out With Thomas, cousin Autumn's FIRST birthday party, and possibly a trip to meet his namesake! I'm curious how he'll do at all these busy events.

How is Jacob adjusting?: better, I'm getting better at giving him attention and not saying "no" so much, I also notice a difference when we consistently uphold timeout threats

I should also note that we switched Judd to Nexium for his reflux this month. He was super fussy (for him) and not sleeping or eating good, so we took him to the pediatrician and she seemed to think it was his reflux. I have noticed an improvement in him, so I'm guessing she was right!

We also had Judd's lip tie revised this month. The procedure was very short and easy, but I was a wreck. BUT! Now that its behind us, I'm honestly so thankful we had it done. His latch has improved, his overall eating had improved, his SLEEP (!!) has improved, and I was afraid it would mess up his teeth in the future.
My friend sent me this quote from a book called Scary Close. I haven't read the book and couldn't tell you what it's about. But this quote. This quote cut through my heart like a knife. I knew God was speaking to me when I read this quote for the first time.

Judd was 2 months old at the time and I had been aggressively searching for a new house. On this particular day, I had spent most of the day at a model home working through the details of building our dream home, but ended up leaving without signing paperwork because we couldn't come to a price agreement. I was frustrated and overwhelmed; I felt like I had wasted my entire day, my entire weekend!, and missed out on those 2 days with my precious 2 month old. My friend sent me this quote completely out of the blue, unaware of my current situation, and I was speechless! How perfectly timed! Of course, after reading that quote, I immediately readjusted my priorities. I put the house hunt on hold and decided to refocus on the family. I felt like it was God's way of telling me, "You need to be at home."

Around the time Judd was 3 months old, I was starting to feel a little off. Like I needed ME time! I asked friends on Facebook to weigh-in on how they find time for themselves and most people said they get their hair done, exercise, go on dates, etc. I thought these all sounded like great ideas, so I bought a workout DVD, scheduled a hair appointment and lined up a girls night out with a girlfriend AND a date night with my husband. Back to my old ways.

Fast forward to this past weekend. Judd is 4 months old and I had my scheduled girls night out on Saturday night. Judd has slept through the night the last 2 nights, so I figured it would be fine to go out for a bit. It was a very tame night out, but really nice to talk with another mom and enjoy appetizers, drinks, a meal AND dessert at a leisurely pace. Before I knew it, it was 11:15pm! I didn't get home until 11:30pm! Whoa! I had to pump when I got home, because HELLO! I have a 4 month old. And ended up getting in bed around midnight. Judd started crying at 4:30am.

I immediately thought to myself, "Whyyyyy did you go out with your friend?? That was so not worth feeling this crappy!!!"

And then I thought of the quote.

This is God telling me again that I need to put my needs, my wants, on the back burner. Your desire to go out to dinner with friends does not matter right now. You need to be at home.

I'm sharing this because the next time I slip, which I know I will, I will read this quote and remember this post and hopefully I will remember God's words...

You need to be at home.

Except for the fact that he's sleeping through the night now (YEA!), so he gets all his calories during the day. Because of that, I try extra hard to give him FULL feedings each and every time. That is also why we're still on a 3-hour feed schedule.

This schedule was provided by Moms on Call and we really love it! We'll probably stick with this until Judd starts solids in a month or so.

7am: wake and nurse

7:30am: Jacob wakes up

8:15am: Judd goes down for nap (still swaddled)

I pump during this time, clean up, start laundry and try to do some activity with Jacob.

10am: wake and nurse

11:15am: Judd goes down for nap

Jacob and I eat lunch during this time, I switch over laundry and sometimes we go play in the backyard for a bit.

1pm: wake and nurse

1:30pm: Jacob goes down for nap

Judd and I get some one-on-one time during this time, which I LOVE!

2:15pm: Judd goes down for nap
This is the only quiet time I get all day, so I try to do something I like to do (catch up on shows, blog, Facebook, shower, etc. I actually just bought 21 Day Fix videos, so I'm excited to start those, too!
3-3:30pm: Jacob usually wakes up around this time, and we sit on the couch and eat a snack while watching Curious George
4pm: wake and nurse
4:30pm: dad gets home! party!
I've started to go for runs during this time, or we'll go for a walk as a family or play in the backyard.
5:30pm: Judd goes down for his last nap, and I start dinner
6pm: Judd wakes up just as we're sitting down to eat, this is also when he gets his medicine, so we usually just give it to him at the dinner table
7pm: Judd starts bathtime in the kitchen sink while Jacob is drinking a smoothie and watching Bubble Guppies in family room
7:15pm: Judd starts his bedtime bottle (6oz of breastmilk)
7:30pm: Jacob starts bath
7:45pm: Judd is down for the night
8pm: Jacob is down for the night

Josh and I divide and conquer at bedtime. I give Judd a bath. Josh gives him a bottle, while I start Jacob's bath. Once Judd is done with his bottle, Josh hands him off to me to nurse a bit and put him to bed. Josh then takes over Jacob's bath and puts him to bed.

Once the kids go to bed, Josh and I try to reconnect, talk about the day or anything important, we watch a show together and drink wine, then I pump and shower and we're usually in bed by 9:30pm.
